SOUND LOGIC FAQ’s

Since we are a mobile DJ service, we always plan to meet up at a time and place that is convenient for you, anywhere within our service area. We can come to your home or office, or meet up in a public place. We have office space in Barrie, ON, and can meet there if it’s more convenient.
Based in Barrie, ON we service as far South as Toronto, as far North as Muskoka, as far East as Oshawa and as far West as Milton.
We will include as many consultations as required, however, one in-person consultation is all that’s usually needed. The balance of the planning can generally be done via our online planning tool, and by phone and email.
Sound Logic believes in up-front and fair pricing that offers exceptional value for your money. We will review all costs with you during the consultation session, and will answer any questions that you may have at that time.
There are many considerations that go into pricing out an event. It wouldn’t be fair to either party to post up pricing, only to then have to change it later on.
Sound logic requires a $200 deposit at time of booking. The balance is due on day of your event, upon arrival.
All deposits are fully refundable up to 90 days prior to the day of the event. At 89 days prior, the deposit becomes non-refundable.
We accept Visa, Mastercard, American Express, Certified Cheque or Cash.
Unfortunately, we are unable to accept personal cheques or Interac debit at this time.
Sound Logic believes in a straight forward approach to pricing. There are never any hidden fees or surprise charges for travel or extra time. If a travel charge applies, it will be noted in the quotation.
Sound Logic has booking packages available which offer discounts when you book more than one event. For example, if you book your Jack & Jill and Wedding Reception with Sound Logic, a discount would be offered.
We are happy to take requests and have various methods to facilitate taking them. We would cover this point off in detail during the initial consultation in order to make sure that any played requests would be met with your approval.
Sound Logic does not offer smoke or fog machines, as smoke and fog fill the room and often come with what some would consider as an unpleasant odour. We suggest dry ice as a friendlier alternative.
Our DJ’s will dress appropriately for your type of event. If you have a specific preference as far as dress code goes, we are happy to accommodate.
While it is not mandatory to feed your DJ, it is often customary depending on the length and type of the event, especially if the DJ is playing music during dinner. If you do not wish to feed your DJ, please let us know ahead of time so that we can make alternative arrangements.

GENERAL FAQ’s

Hiring a professional DJ will help to ensure that your event goes off without a hitch. You should take the same care in hiring your DJ as with hiring your banquet hall, photographer and caterer.

Make sure that your DJ is a member in good standing of one of the Canadian DJ Associations. CPDJA or CDJA are the two major Canadian Associations.

Yes. Many venues now require proof of insurance before they will even allow your DJ onto the premises, so it’s important that you insist on them confirming that they are covered under their own insurance policy.
Professional DJ’s only use music that is licensed for use during your event. Always ask your DJ if they’re a “Connect” music licensed DJ. If they aren’t, it might be worth asking where they get their music from.

While rare, if an inspector shows up on the night of your event and finds pirated music being used, your DJ could be shut down on the spot.

There are differing opinions on this thought, but simply put, don’t do it.

You will be stressed out, your guests will argue over what to play, and it’s a bad idea all around.
